Fiber Arts

My mother taught me to knit at 8 years old; my father taught me to sew at 10. My soft sculptures feature forgotten clothing, blankets, and misc. fibers from second-hand stores, bins on the street, and clothing I no longer wear.

I feel guilty throwing away my clothes, even if it’s to a second-hand store - even with the increase of thrift culture, a large percentage of donated clothes get tossed away. I draw my inspiration from consumer culture crossed with the guilt of throwing away your clothes.
